About Highland Artic Blue Shaker
Highland Artic Blue Shaker cabinets — what to know
The style
Why homeowners pick it
Arctic Blue is Highland's coastal painted shaker — a soft desaturated blue that reads as color without overwhelming the room. The most-installed island color in Palm Beach County coastal kitchens, often paired with white perimeter cabinets for a two-tone look.
Construction
How Artic Blue Shaker is built
Highland's American face-framed construction. Drawer boxes are dovetailed solid wood with 1/2" thick sides riding on full-extension undermount soft-close steel slides — they pull out completely and lift off for cleaning. Doors are full-overlay 5-piece birch wood on a birch wood face frame, hung on 6-way adjustable hidden hinges with soft-close. The cabinet box is 1/2" plywood reinforced with metal “L” brackets, with 3/4" stretchers on the back and a 4-1/2" recessed toe kick. All interiors get a clear-coat UV finish.
South Florida fit
How it works in our climate
South Florida light loves muted blues. The painted finish is UV-cured so the color holds true under bright sun, and we use Arctic Blue most often on islands, butler's pantries, and laundry rooms where a single saturated element anchors an otherwise neutral palette.
Pairings
Countertops, hardware, and where it fits
Pairs cleanly with white quartz, marble, marble-look quartzite, brushed brass or polished nickel hardware, and warm wood floors. Strong fit for Jupiter, Tequesta, Singer Island, and Manalapan coastal homes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Highland Artic Blue Shaker
How is Highland Artic Blue different from Jarlin Aria Blue?
Both are light coastal blues. Artic Blue (Highland) is slightly cooler and lighter; Aria Blue (Jarlin) is a touch more saturated. The choice often comes down to which manufacturer you're already specifying for the rest of the kitchen.
Will Highland Artic Blue fade in direct sun?
Painted finishes are more UV-stable than stains, but any saturated color shows slight drift over decades. Strong afternoon sun accelerates this.
What countertops pair with Highland Artic Blue?
White quartz, marble, marble-look quartzite, or warm-veined Calacatta-look surfaces.
