Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Highland cabinets
What's the difference between Highland's American Face Framed and European Frameless lines?
Highland's American Face Framed line uses a traditional hardwood face frame with 5-piece full-overlay birch doors — the classic framed shaker look. The European Frameless line skips the face frame for a fully frameless box with slab doors in PET film or textured melamine. Both lines use the same 1/2" plywood box and 4-1/2" recessed toe kick.
Do Highland cabinets come with soft-close hardware?
Yes — both Highland lines ship with 6-way adjustable concealed metal hinges with soft-close, and full-extension undermount steel soft-close drawer slides. The American line includes dovetail drawer boxes with 1/2" solid-wood sides; the European line uses premium white metal drawer boxes. Both are removable for easy cleaning.
Are Highland cabinets in stock locally?
Yes — Highland Cabinetry of Florida operates three Florida locations (St. Petersburg, Ft. Myers, and West Palm Beach), each with fully stocked inventory for same-day pickup and fast special-order turnaround per the Highland catalog. We'll confirm current stock during the in-home consultation.
What's inside a Highland cabinet box?
Per the Highland catalog, boxes are 1/2" plywood with 3/4" stretchers, metal L-bracket reinforcement, and a 4-1/2" recessed toe kick. Interiors get a clear-coat UV finish (American line) or full white melamine (European line). Adjustable shelves are 3/4" thick.
