About Highland Blue Shaker

Highland Blue Shaker cabinets — what to know

The style

Why homeowners pick it

Blue Shaker is Highland's saturated navy painted shaker — deeper and more confident than Arctic Blue, with enough density to anchor a kitchen on its own. A frequent choice for islands, butler's pantries, and full perimeter runs in Palm Beach County coastal homes that want real color, not a tinted neutral.

Construction

How Blue Shaker is built

Highland's American face-framed construction. Drawer boxes are dovetailed solid wood with 1/2" thick sides riding on full-extension undermount soft-close steel slides — they pull out completely and lift off for cleaning. Doors are full-overlay 5-piece birch wood on a birch wood face frame, hung on 6-way adjustable hidden hinges with soft-close. The cabinet box is 1/2" plywood reinforced with metal “L” brackets, with 3/4" stretchers on the back and a 4-1/2" recessed toe kick. All interiors get a clear-coat UV finish.

South Florida fit

How it works in our climate

Saturated navy reads richer under bright Florida light than it does in northern showrooms — the sun pulls out the depth of the blue without making it look heavy. The UV-cured paint locks the tone in, so the navy stays consistent from morning glare to afternoon shadow.

Pairings

Countertops, hardware, and where it fits

Pairs handsomely with Calacatta-pattern quartz, white marble, marble-look quartzite, brushed brass or unlacquered brass hardware, and warm wood floors. Strong fit for Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, and Manalapan coastal homes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Highland Blue Shaker

How is Highland Blue Shaker different from Arctic Blue?

Blue Shaker is a saturated navy painted shaker. Arctic Blue is a much lighter desaturated coastal blue — the two are at opposite ends of the Highland blue range, not subtle siblings.

Does Highland Blue Shaker work for a full kitchen or only as an island?

Both. Blue Shaker reads well as a full perimeter color in kitchens with strong natural light, and is one of our most-installed island colors when paired with a white or off-white perimeter.

Will Highland Blue Shaker fade in South Florida sun?

No. The UV-cured paint Highland uses is engineered to resist fading under bright sunlight, so the saturated navy stays consistent over the cabinet's service life.
