About Fabuwood Onyx
Fabuwood Onyx cabinets — what to know
The style
Why homeowners pick it
Onyx is being phased out by Fabuwood. We list it here so homeowners with existing Onyx kitchens can identify the door for repair or replacement work, and so dealers comparing spec catalogs can find the construction details. For new installations we recommend Galaxy or Tuscany as the closest current alternatives.
Construction
How Onyx is built
Onyx was built on the Allure platform — same mortise-and-tenon construction (framed vs. frameless explained), Blum soft-close hardware, dovetail drawer boxes, and 1/2" plywood cabinet box that Tuscany and Galaxy use. Existing Onyx kitchens hold up well under normal Palm Beach County use.
South Florida fit
How it works in our climate
If you already have an Onyx kitchen, no concern — the construction quality matches the current lineup. For new construction in South Florida, South Florida Kitchen & Bath Design would recommend Galaxy (slim-rail) or Tuscany (standard rail) depending on the visual you're after.
Pairings
Countertops, hardware, and where it fits
Existing Onyx kitchens are most often paired with quartz or quartzite countertops. The available finishes (Frost, Cobblestone, Horizon, plus a partial Designer Collection) were a small subset of the full Allure palette.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Fabuwood Onyx
Can I still buy Fabuwood Onyx for a new kitchen?
Onyx is being discontinued. Some dealer inventory may remain, but for new specifications we recommend Galaxy or Tuscany as the closest current matches on the same Allure platform.
Will Fabuwood Onyx replacement doors still be available?
Fabuwood honors warranty claims on existing Onyx installations and produces replacement doors for those claims. For owner-paid replacements, availability depends on remaining inventory.
What's the best Fabuwood Onyx alternative?
Galaxy is the closest active match — both are slim-rail framed shakers on the Allure platform with overlapping finish options.
